10 Video Games That Were Great At First (But We Quickly Lost Interest)

10. Minecraft

Is there a single person in this world that hasn't played Minecraft in some form by now? Mojang's indie smash-hit is becoming available on more and more platforms, making millions and millions wherever it goes. You've no doubt seen the impressive worlds created by users €“ replicating everything from Skyrim to Game of Thrones €“ and wanted to try your hand at it. Then you'll realise how much work and dedication it takes to create something that expansive and give up pretty quickly. Sound familiar? Yeah, thought so. The great thing about Minecraft is that it inspires creativity, but it really does take patience and dedication to create something worth bragging about, especially if you aren't using Creative Mode to build your visions. The frequent updates to the game offer a whole range of new content to explore and use but nothing will match that initial spark of discovery from the early days of Minecraft; in fact, gameplay updates like hunger have made the game more tedious to play, especially if you want to just drop in and have a crack at Survival Mode. Minecraft is still massively popular and will no doubt continue to grow but we wish our ambitions and determination matched its creative potential.
