10 Video Games NO ONE Can Agree On
2. Death Stranding

Depending on who you ask, Death Stranding is either the masterful artistic summation of everything Hideo Kojima has given us up to this point, or 40 hours of masturbatory, self-indulgent tosh.
Then again, it's entirely possible for both of these statements to be true.
Death Stranding was a most unexpected follow-up to Kojima's work on the Metal Gear Solid franchise, seriously scaling the action back in favour of exploration and puzzle-like traversal, enough that some simply found the experience "boring."
Many also took issue with the narrative, which even for Kojima's standards could be called his most impenetrable, even incomprehensible to date.
But Kojima is one of gaming's few card-carrying auteurs, and with that came considerable respect for the bold originality of his vision.
In a sea of ultra-violent AAA action games, there was something refreshing about Death Stranding basically being the world's most advanced walking simulator.
Even with its mandatory bursts of action, it had chill vibes out the wazoo, and its story was nothing if not ferociously unique - crystalline logic be-damned.
Expect this discourse to be renewed with the impending release of Death Stranding 2, which in the very least seems to be decidedly more action-packed than its predecessor - a revelation which will itself split fans of the first.
