4. Tales Of Eternia - PSP

RPGs, by their very nature, can often have some unfortunately unwinnable situations. If you are under-levelled or are able to sell key items for some reason, you can find yourself needing to restart your journey to correct these unfortunate mistakes.

Tales of Destiny II released for the PS1 in 2000 and 2001 in Japan and America but Europe didn't see this instalment in the series until 2006 when it came to the PSP as Tales of Eternia. This time, it was America that missed out and they were possibly thankful for it as the game is remembered amongst European fans as more of a headache than anything.

When the player gets to the boss summon fight against Volt, the game will freeze. This battle is about halfway through a 40 hour campaign. That's a lot of time wasted.

What makes this even tougher is Namco's reprint, which is designed to fix this issue, was made as subtle as possible. It's impossible to tell which version you've bought until you put it in your PSP. If it's the rerelease, it will force a PSP firmware update to version 2.5.

Fans looking to pick up a replacement copy of the game could, if they're unlucky, wind up with multiple versions of the first pressing, which is totally unbeatable.
