9. Football Manager
This entry is cheating a little bit, as instead of including a singular edition of a game, I'm including the franchise as a whole. Usually, I would make the distinction between different games in an ongoing series, but in the case of Football Manager, I think I'm safe to lump them all in together. That's because, save for the obligatory tweaks and upgrades in the way the game operates that comes with any game series returning year after year, Football Manager has remained largely the same game and stuck to its core concept. And it's too its credit, as that concept is truly addictive. Originally released under the banner of Championship Manager in 1992 before a split by its creative teams Eidos and Sports Interactive, the game was re-branded as Football Manager and continued to indulge sports fans with its in depth simulation facilities and overall playability. So much so that real teams have been known to utilize the game in order to scout for potential players.
