10 Video Games That Ruined Your Social Life

8. Final Fantasy 7

Final Fantasy7 Here is a game series that needs the distinction between each installment. The franchise's rabid and staunchly loyal fan base has been clamoring for a HD remake of the game that many still consider to be the high point of the series, the 1997 release of the seventh installment. The game's iconic storyline mixed elements of fantasy, science fiction and mythology hooked both returning fans and newcomers alike to their controllers, and the game's epic scale and innovative battle system kept them coming back for more. The game's cut-scenes were majestically rendered, especially given its time of release, and paved the way for more cinematic elements to be included within the context of a video game release. The game continues to hold onto its large fan base, with a straight to DVD animated sequel being released that continued the game's narrative, as well as the ever persistent rumors of a remake for current systems or actual playable sequel game coming down the pipeline, but so far fans have had to make do with the original Final Fantasy 7.
