4. Mortal Kombat 4
As one of the most widely renowned and brutal fighting games of all time, Mortal Kombat was continuing to gain its fame after its fourth instalment was released in 1997 - even boasting 3D graphics for the first time. What the game was most definitely not boasting was its voice acting. The 'story' isn't exactly the reason people play the game, though when a franchise is as brutal as Mortal Kombat you should at least be able to take it seriously. The cut scenes within the game are fairly laughable, containing voices that have obviously been deepened, often to an unnatural extent. The over the top, melodramatic performances certainly give the scenes some entertainment value, though it removes any hope of taking the story seriously - although the writing itself didn't exactly help the actors.
