10 Video Games Sega Should Be Releasing Instead Of Sonic

4. Phantasy Star Online 2 (Western Release)

Having been released back in 2012 to Japanese audiences only, Phantasy Star Online 2 currently has over 2 million registered accounts and is still going from strength to strength. The sequel to a game that essentially pioneered online gaming for consoles, PSO2 is unique in the MMO genre in that it eschews a fantasy setting in favour of a science fiction one. With no real competitor in the West in terms of setting, Sega's continued lack of communication on whether PSO2 is coming to North America and Europe is baffling to say the least, especially since localised language files have already been found within the game. It's easy to forget that the company is responsible for some of the most innovative games ever made, and it's bull-headed approach to releasing continual iterations of poorly-made Sonic games is doing them no favours. As of now, PSO2's Western release is still confirmed by Sega to be coming, but when that will actually happen is anyone's guess.
