10 Video Games Star Wars Fans Need To Play
4. Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast
Jedi Academy and Dark Forces are both equally great games, but Jedi Outcast has a fantastic balance of lightsaber battles, force powers, blaster shootouts and RPG elements to make it one of the best adventures set in the Star Wars universe.
JKII follows Kyle Katarn, a Jedi who has a turbulent relationship with the Force. Following the events of Mysteries of the Sith, Katarn has teamed up with bounty hunter and now romantic partner Jan Ors. After taking on some missions for the Rebellion, Katarn and Ors find that potentially dangerous experiments are being conducted on Kyber crystals (powerful relics that are used to power lightsabers) and come up against the Dark Jedi, Desann.
Jedi Outcast's greatest points are in its combat systems, those being a mix of close-quarters lightsaber wielding, Force power combat and ranged gun-play, with the lightsaber combat in particular feeling authentic and well crafted. The level design is also intelligently constructed and features puzzles that balance and pace the campaign action with slower moments to break up the firefights.
