10 Video Games Supposed To Release On Other Consoles

9. Final Fantasy XV

There's always an interesting story whenever a game has a Wikipedia page devoted to its own development, but even then, Final Fantasy XV is a uniquely ridiculous case.

Final Fantasy XV began development in 2006, just as Final Fantasy XII hit stores and Square Enix was already hard at work on Final Fantasy XIII, which would itself release in 2010.

You see, what would become Final Fantasy XV actually started out life as a PS3-exclusive Final Fantasy XIII spin-off entitled Final Fantasy Versus XIII, as was first revealed at E3 2006.

Production was long and arduous, however, and in 2012 the decision was made to re-brand it as Final Fantasy XV, with Hajime Tabata taking over directorial duties from Tetsuya Nomura, while development shifted over to the PS4 and Xbox One.

This required Final Fantasy XV to be rebuilt in Square Enix's newer Luminous Engine, while also resulting in some content from Versus XIII being cut.

More than 10 years after it was first shown to the public, it was finally released worldwide in November 2016 to mostly positive reviews.
