10 Video Games That Aged Badly For Surprising Reasons

9. That Control Scheme You Totally Forgot About - GoldenEye 007

Goldeneye 007
Rare

Everyone who owned an N64 knows the greatest first-person shooter was Golden Eye. Years before Halo, years before Call of Duty or Rainbow Six were passable games, there was Golden Eye; a movie tie-in that was not only satisfactory, but downright good.

With a few controllers your whole crew could get together and enjoy a night with crisp controls and great level design. Well, at least as long as one of your friends didn't play as Oddjob. Rare did a fantastic job with GoldenEye - one that can never be beaten, right?

Has anyone actually gone back and played this game recently?

How did we ever play a shooter that didn't have solid vertical aiming? And the campaign AI? You thought escort missions were bad now, let's go back to 1997 and try escorting Natalya to anywhere that isn't immediately in front of your own rifle. By the fifth reload of the level you're actually gunning for her just out of spite - and you may as well, it's way easier to hit her than it is to hit the enemy.

Cane we escort Oddjob, instead? At least we won't have to worry about friendly fire.
