10 Video Games That Could Be 2019’s Game Of The Year

4. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

The microtransactions of Battlefront 2 dogged EA's last Star Wars title, but it was hardly a groundbreaking game to begin with. It sold well enough, as anything with the Star Wars name will, but the upcoming Fallen Order has the potential to soar high above that very low bar. Made by Respawn, it could prove to be the Star Wars game fans have been waiting for since Knights of the Old Republic.

Though Titanfall 2 seemed like it was sent out to die, it had one of the most compelling FPS campaigns in years. Especially considering how varied and extensive the multiplayer suite was as well. And that time travel mission? Anything half as creative in Fallen Order will make it an instant winner.

It promises to be dark and gritty, which on the surface just sounds like a lot of buzzwords. But hopefully it suggests they’re not just playing it safe, and will take some risks to allow this game to stand on its own. Pressure inevitably comes with the name, but it already has a built-in fanbase and could be a huge success.
