10 Video Games That Could Secretly Dominate 2019
8. A Plague Tale: Innocence
A Plague Tale: Innocence may not be on the radars of many, but it's a game that looks to surprise a lot of people when it releases later this year. Following the journey of a young girl and her little brother during the Hundred Years' War and the oncoming of the Black Plague, it looks to be a dark, grisly adventure through one of humanity's bleakest moments.
Channelling the same mature storytelling that made Hellblade such a success in 2017, A Plague Tale's cinematic visuals mixed with its stealth and puzzle gameplay means that it has all the makings of a multifaceted single-player experience that covers a part of history rife with strong narrative material. It doesn't lack action either; the gameplay currently available highlights horrifying encounters with large swarms of rats and tense chases with crazed town folk, all afore the backdrop of some exquisite environments.
Looking at the suite of single-player experiences coming to gaming systems this year, there's not many that could rival the tone, setting or feel of A Plague Tale: Innocence.
