While there are a number of series' veterans excited for the third entry in the long-dormant Ultimate Alliance series, those unacquainted with the franchise have painted Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order in a somewhat controversial light. Its Nintendo Switch exclusivity didn't do much for the budding threequel, while the cartoony aesthetics also garnered a lot of flack from Marvel fans who desired a more 'realistic' feel to the game.

However, what many forget is that the backing and source material behind Ultimate Alliance 3 means it has the potential to be something truly special. Nintendo has been on an absolute roll recently, working tirelessly with a range of third-party talent to bring some truly fantastic games to the Switch.

The company's dedication to making fun games as well as the presence of the Marvel license could make Ultimate Alliance 3 an explosively entertaining action extravaganza with a wide range of beloved playable characters.

The series' other entries have never gotten the credit they truly deserve, but with the current popularity of Marvel being at an all-time high and the release of Spider-Man PS4 being so successful, it's reasonable to think that Ultimate Alliance 3 could soar straight to the stratosphere if the gameplay is as entertaining as it looks.
