5. Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time
Time travel can be a funny ol' thing. What you do in the past may effect your present, or maybe something you don't do can have adverse consequences. Or perhaps you've already done it, you just don't know it yet.
Unfortunately for the titular prince of the series reboot in 2003's reboot, he gets a dose of time travel shenanigans when his vizier starts messing about with it all. What you don't see is the prince narrating all of this to an unseen entity, at seemingly the end of his journey.
This turns out the be the Maharaja's daughter, Farah, who accompanied him throughout his journey, with the two growing closer. Trouble is, the prince rights everything, thus undoing all he did to get to where he is now.
This includes all of his interactions with Farah, as it transpires she has no knowledge of him or why he's telling her all of this. It was a slap to both the prince and the player, to discover all of your hard work won't be remembered by anyone.
