3. Alien Trilogy

An amalgamation of the first three (and best) Alien films, it's part retelling of the story, part fictional spin-off.

Playing as series heroine Ripley, now a Marine of some sort in this, it was a decent first person shooter for 1996's home consoles. Well, it wasn't the best, but give me this or Colonial Marines, and I know what I'm picking.

Yet like a lot of "old school" games, it was hard, but help was at hand. Y'see, when cheat codes were a school yard commodity, most games used to use them, with Alien Trilogy getting in on the fun.

But if you exploited that to cheese through the game to reach the conclusion, taking out the xenomorph hordes, you'd be greeted with... the intro cutscene.

Oh yes, Acclaim weren't going to let you finish this without a fight, and if you were trying to show off how good you were to your mates, you'd be exposed as the cheating fraud you are.

It was all they could do bar print, "Cheaters never prosper, go and do it properly" on the screen. Burns deeper than acid blood.
