9. Gran Turismo 7 Made It Even Harder To Earn Cars With A Patch

Though Gran Turismo 7 received strongly positive reviews from critics upon launch for its gameplay and graphics, the player response has been considerably more negative, largely due to Polyphony Digital's increasingly aggressive implementation of microtransactions post-launch.

The lack of core content in the game makes it necessary for players to grind races after a while if they want to continue accruing currency to unlock Gran Turismo 7's 400+ cars, and before long players began resorting to grinding races with high payouts.

But in an all-timer dick move, Polyphony released a patch roughly two weeks after release which severely nerfed the payouts for these races, making it even more of a slog to earn cash to buy cars with.

In conjunction with the fact that players can't sell the cars they own, it was painfully clear that Polyphony was trying to steer players towards shelling out real-world money for in-game currency.

But mere days later, creative players came up with an ingenious solution, by devising a script which could be used with Remote Play to effectively let the game play itself and grind currency.

It's embarrassing that the game is in such a state that players would even consider this rather than, you know, just playing it, but Polyphony did this to themselves.
