10 Video Games That Just Pissed Off EVERYONE

It seems like everyone and their mother is trying to cash-in on the NFT craze before it bottoms out, and that's certainly true of video game developers too.

Case in point, last December S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 developers GSC Game World announced that the long-awaited survival game would feature NFT implementation, with players able to bid in order to win the opportunity to be scanned into the game as an NPC referred to as a "metahuman."

GSC also stated an intention to include NFT items in the game, even while insisting that it "won't influence the gameplay itself or give in-game advantages over other players."

Unsurprisingly the response from players en masse was vitriolic, feeling that it was a greedy desperation move from the developer. The fan ire was intense enough that GSC responded just a day later, confirming that all NFT plans for the game had been pulled in a grovelling statement:

"Based on the feedback we received, we've made a decision to cancel anything NFT-related in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2... The interests of our fans and players are the top priority for the team. We're making this game for you to enjoy - whatever the cost is. If you care, we care too."
