10 Video Games That Let You Kill God
8. Kid Icarus: Uprising (2012)
With the whole premise of the Kid Icarus series based around ancient Greek mythology, you'd be pretty disappointed if none of the pantheon's legendary members made an appearance at any point. Thankfully, that's not the case, and in 2012's Kid Icarus: Uprising, the main antagonist is none other than the Lord of the Underworld himself.
Hades is as entertaining as he is evil, making his grand entrance by literally ripping through the game's 'end credits' after Pit defeats Medusa. Like Pit, he's chockfull of one-liners and pop culture references, giving him a pleasing similarity to Disney's take on the shady character in 1997's Hercules.
Pit takes up the Three Sacred Treasures to defeat Hades, but a single blow from his godlike opponent leaves him virtually weaponless. Later on, he's given the Great Sacred Treasure as a replacement, which looks to be doing the trick until Hades ends up destroying that, too!
Not completely, as luck would have it, and while Hades is distracted, Pit charges up a surviving cannon on the suit, firing it on the unaware foe and blowing him into next week.
But is this the end of Hades? Stick around after the REAL end credits to find out...
