10 Video Games That Made You Quit Gaming
5. Fallout 76 Nukes The Franchise's Reputation
For Bethesda, they don't have the best track record of releasing actual finished games with no bugs and problems.
Let us not forget Skyrim's infamous backwards-flying dragons.
Fallout 76, however, was a new low for Bethesda, and a big black mark on the reputation of the Fallout series in general.
An attempt to bring the Fallout series into MMO territory, 76 is just... not good. It takes the world of Fallout (which is fine) but removes meaningful stories and interaction from it. Upon launch, the game was so riddled with bugs it was all but unplayable.
Then there's even more! The game was also full of microtransactions that were toe-curlingly expensive, and made you almost pine for the days of Oblivion's horse armour.
If you persisted through the bugs, microtransactions and general sense of an unfinished game, Bethesda had another deal for you! For just £12.99 per month you can subscribe to Fallout 1st, allowing you to finally play on a private server and get a few other in-game perks.
Private servers were requested for ages by the Fallout 76 community, but when they finally arrived, Bethesda chucked them behind an expensive paywall to squeeze a bit more cash out of you.
Sometimes this blatant anti-consumer nonsense just makes you want to step away from gaming entirely.
