6. You Missed The Pistol? Too Bad - Scorn

Far Cry 3 Vaas
Ebb Software

As you admire your surroundings while playing Scorn, it's easy to see that an astounding level of care was put into this game to emulate the biopunk designs of visual artists like HR Geiger.

Unfortunately, many would argue Ebb Software should've spent less time on the game's techno-organic design and more on... the game itself. Due to its unbalanced puzzles and repetitive gameplay, it was no surprise Scorn was met with mediocre reviews.

What makes Scorn's flaws so frustrating is how easily they could've been remedied. In a puzzle area with spherical elevators, you'll see a weapon rack that contains a Pistol.

At least... you should notice the rack.

Because the Pistol is easy to miss and off to the side while you're solving something else, many players failed to pick it up, making enemy encounters much harder for sizeable portions of the game. Also, since checkpoints are minimal, expect to go through the same sections ad nauseam.

For the record, this isn't a niche problem. So many gamers skipped past the Pistol, there are entire forums dedicated to it.

If the developers made sure the Pistol was out in the open, this could've been effortlessly avoided.
