10 Video Games That Mocked Their Rivals

5. Witcher 2 Explores The Real-Life Consequences Of Being An Assassin

Assassin's Creed broke new ground in many ways for its developments in storytelling, non-linear gameplay, open world exploring, and deep world-building and lore.

But those haystack jumps...

The protagonist of the AC games could perform what was called a Leap of Faith. Essentially, it was a jump from a very high place, with a landing cushioned by conveniently placed piles of hay on the ground or in carts. Even for a video game, it strained credulity that anyone or anything could jump from the heights portrayed and survive with only some straw to break your fall.

With this in mind, The Witcher 2 takes the opportunity to let us see what would truly happen if anyone, no matter how well trained, attempted such a jump. While poking around one of the corners of his in-game domain, Geralt can come across a body dressed in AC's iconic red and white assassin garb. Said body is lying on the ground showing the actual effects of a Leap of Faith.

And for a real real-world explanation, check out what those kooky kids at the University of Leicester's Physics Department came up with....
