10 Video Games That Only Make Sense If You Bought The DLC
3. Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow - Why Gabriel Is Suddenly A Vampire
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow has one of the most jarring endings to a game ever. After defeating the title's main villain, the game suddenly jumps forward in time, introducing new characters before revealing that, somehow, protagonist Gabriel has become a vampire.
It all comes out of left field, and it rightfully left fans scratching their heads wondering just what the hell they were supposed to do with this new information. Of course, the developers knew this polarising ending would get people talking, and hopefully encourage them to pick up the title's largest piece of DLC in search of answers.
The expansion did in fact fill in the gaps, and explains that between taking down the bad guy and becoming a vampire, Gabriel actually went on an entirely new quest to destroy an age-old evil that he indirectly awoke on his adventures in the main game.
It was this final quest that resulted in the character's vampiric transformation, something you'd have no idea about without this DLC.
