10 Video Games That Prove 2010 Was The Best Year Ever

Bungie

The last truly great Halo game? The best Halo game ever made? They’re both arguments for another day. What’s for sure is that this was Bungie’s last Halo before 343 Industries took over, and it was a hell of a sendoff.

Adding in jetpacks and longer lasting armour enhancements, Bungie still offered innovative with their last roll of the Halo dice. The plot too was much more streamlined than the rest of the Halo series, and the landscapes offered a more diverse and colourful palette than the often gloomy atmosphere the other Halo releases offered.

While the story was much more comprehensible than others, there were a few steps backwards here too. It built on what had been before where combat was involved, but the switch to third person while driving was as awkward as always. In many ways, it even got a little worse, but that’s a minor infraction, all things concerned.

The multiplayer was as stellar as Halo’s ever been, with inventive game modes beyond the usual deathmatch and capture the flag. Headhunter gave extra rewards for taking skulls dropped from fallen foes, while Firefight offered a customiseable hoarde mode.
