10 Video Games That Prove The Wii U Is Far From Doomed

4. Mario Maker

If you've ever played Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels you will know beyond a shadow of a doubt that some level designers are utter sadists. Mario Maker is perfect therapy for decades of frustration because it enables you to create devious levels of your own. The great thing is that unlike in actual Mario games there's no limit on what's acceptable. The more fiendishly difficult and ridiculous, the better! The Gamepad's touchscreen makes editing and tweaking levels a breeze. It's just a matter of tapping to place blocks, goombas and the dreaded hammer bros. wherever you desire. Creating jumps that require pixel-perfect accuracy is surprisingly straightforward as well thanks to having the ability to see individual frames of Mario's jump trajectory. You'll be creating levels that cause players to rip their own hair out in no time! You'll also be able to freely switch between different Mario art styles. Original 8-bit Mario and the more modern looking New Super Mario Bros. U have been confirmed so far. Here's hoping the gorgeous hand-drawn art style of Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island makes the cut as well. Mario Maker has the potential to be tons of fun if Nintendo makes it easy to share your levels with the world. It makes smart use of the Gamepad and is almost guaranteed to put a smile on every Mario fan's face when it launches in early 2015.

When I'm not playing games, I'm probably either writing about them somewhere or singing stupid songs inspired by them. Or eating pizza.
