10 Video Games That Punished "Cheesing"

7. Bad Egg - Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire

Most editions of Pokémon try and prevent players from doing anything too crazy with their 'Mons - largely because letting folks create the perfect creature through cheats makes the online multiplayer battle side of the game decidedly unfair.

No instalment was as brutal in this regard as Ruby and Sapphire, the third generation of the franchise. If you toyed around with Pokémon's stats, moves or IVs, you would often find an Egg had either replaced them, or appeared in your team or inventory.

While the new arrival might appear exciting, it was actually anything but, as hatching it would cause your game to crash. Better yet, the egg can duplicate itself, taking up space and possibly replacing some of your beloved critters.

In short, if there's one Pokémon generation you don't want to mess around with if you love the team you've assembled, it's the third generation.
