Ever seen the 1958 version of The Blob, or its 1988 remake? Well, this game lets you play as that titular, rather hungry ball of space goop. It's glorious.

The fantastic Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack was originally a PS Vita launch title, but if you don't own the best handheld console ever made, you can also play it on PC, Switch, PS3, and Xbox 360. It's a side-scrolling platformer where you - the mutant blob - must consume everything in your path in order to grow to a humongous size, and by everything... we really do mean everything.

This is a game that wants you to be an utter d*ck towards humanity, with your blob starting out by eating small groups of humans, and eventually, scoffing down tanks, helicopters, houses, and skyscrapers. Yummy. Getting your munch on will not only grant you a higher score, but you'll also increase your size, allowing you to slime your way through each level much more quickly.

This results in your bloodthirsty blob growing to the size of a planet by the end of the game, and all because of the insane property damage you caused along the way.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
