10 Video Games That Reward You For Killing NPCs

4. Fallout 3 - Mega-ton Of Rewards

Another title now with a moral choice system, 2008's Fallout 3 was a little less binary. Players could go all in on either good or bad, or just lay somewhere in the middle as an apathetic wanderer.

Upon discovering the town of Megaton, it's pretty clear why it's called that: the giant, unexploded bomb at its centre. Now, the nicer option is to give the townsfolk peace of mind and deactivate it.

Or, as is the recurrent theme here, you can activate that sucker at the behest of one Alistair Tenpenny. You don't owe this people anything, what's one more smoking crater, after all?

Well, should players give in to that sweet, nuclear temptation, they'll be rewarded with a whole heap of bad Karma points. Standard, really. You just nuked a town.

But that's not all. Players will also get the keys to a suite in Tenpenny Tower, which isn't to be sniffed at. If cards were also played right (and the Speech skill high enough), there's a thousand bottle caps at stake too.

That's some good spending money to drown out that guilty conscience.
