10 Video Games That Should Have Ended Differently
6. Batman: Arkham Knight - Have A Climactic Showdown With The Arkham Knight
Another boss fight rework, as almost every single piece of the Arkham Knight's role in his titular game was bad. The lying from Rocksteady as how he was "a brand new character", the strange lack of confidence the devs had with his many appearances - even the very machinations of his boss fights boiled down to a terrible cat n' mouse car chase, a tank battle and stealth sequence, respectively.
There was just no weight to anything. We wanted to go toe-to-toe with the guy who - in cutscenes - seemed to be able to beat Batman in hand-to-hand combat. Not to mention his allusions to knowing Bruce beforehand - a personal edge that could've backed every blow.
Battling Arkham Knight should be like Arkham Origins' Deathstroke duel mixed with Arkham City's Mr. Freeze fight. Trading fists, both combatants landing solid haymakers, the whole time Bats and the Arkham Knight would get more battered and bloody. And only THEN should he have taken his mask off, being the whole point of Jason Todd's character is to reduce Batman to the feeling of helplessness he felt when at the mercy of the Joker.
It should've been the culmination of three games' worth of gameplay lessons rolled into one, and it should've also closed out the game instead of the "first-person Joker" sequence we got instead.
