10 Video Games That Should Have Started 10 Minutes Later
9. God Hand
Okay, Clover Studio has a gift for creating bad first levels since Okami isn't the only game they developed that made it on our list.
The PlayStation 2 exclusive, God Hand, follows a warrior called Gene who must battle a demonic army. With its futuristic western setting and Resident Evil creator, Shinji Mikami, at the helm, God Hand looked like it had potential.
Unfortunately, a lot of players threw their controllers in frustration, giving up on the first level. Strangely, this beat-em-up's prologue has the opposite problem of Okami. Instead of stuffing the opening with an over-explanatory tutorial , it dumps you in the deep end, expecting you to figure out moves and combos by yourself.
Stranger still, the second level is noticeably easier since the enemies telegraph their attacks. On top of that, it's clearer how to execute charging moves and counters in this level than the previous one.
The first level isn't difficult when you get the hang of the controls but it's a nightmare if you're going in cold. Level 2 has a more reasonable difficulty, which is why the game should have began there.
