10 Video Games That Should Have Started 10 Minutes Later
8. Star Fox Adventures
The gameplay in Star Fox normally involves the titular character flying through space in his Arwing, blasting at enemy ships. However, Starfox Adventures toned down these sequences to focus more on our hero exploring worlds on foot. This decision upset many players since the epic space battles have been a fundamental part of the franchise since its inception.
Even though this Gamecube exclusive was a dud, changing the series' structure wouldn't have been a problem if handled appropriately. (It worked for Metroid Prime.)
However, it's apparent the developers bungled things the moment Starfox Adventures boots up. Instead of starting with Fox or his teammates, the action adventure game begins with a sexy fox, Krystal, flying around on a pterodactyl.
As she speaks in alien gibberish, players might think they set the language to the wrong setting. Since the characters in this scene say certain words like "Palace" and "General" in perfect English, it makes the dialogue unintentionally hilarious.
Because you take control of Fox and fly an Arwing in the following sequence, it's peculiar why the developers didn't start the story there. I mean, the game would still be rubbish but at least you would begin in familiar territory.
