10 Video Games That Start With The BIGGEST Boss Fight

5. Gohma - The Legend Of Zelda: Wind Waker

Gohma is a recurring enemy in The Legend of Zelda, appearing in almost every main entry in the series. As such, it's no surprise the one-eyed beast serves as the opening boss in The Wind Waker. Since Gohma was also the first adversary that Link faced in The Ocarina of Time, the creepy critter should still be fresh in players' memories.

That's why it's such a shock in Wind Waker when Link enters Gohma's domain. Rather than facing an overgrown bug, Link finds himself standing before a gargantuan centipede-like monstrosity. Sealed in armour and dripping with lava, the cycloptic goliath has never looked this scary.

Since Link's weapons can't make a dent in Gohma's exoskeleton, the Hero of Time needs some outside help. While avoiding Gohma's claws and fire breath, Link needs to use his grappling hook to latch onto the tail of a dragon that's poking out from the ceiling. By tugging on the tail, Link can literally bring the roof down on Gohma, cracking the outer shell. Once Gohma's exterior shatters, Link can pulverise the nasty arthropod in no time.

The fight itself is pretty easy, but it leaves a major impression, thanks to Gohma's staggering size and flawless presentation.
