10 Video Games That Surprisingly No-Showed E3 2021

During the Xbox Games Showcase last July, Microsoft turned a lot of heads by revealing Obsidian Entertainment's new first-person RPG Avowed, which is set in the same universe as 2015's Pillars of Eternity.

The brief snippet of gameplay shown off in the reveal trailer looked gorgeously polished, enough that many were hoping they'd see a wider look at the game at E3.

Despite rumours suggesting a trailer drop might be on the cards, Microsoft offered nothing new on Avowed, perhaps implying it's another title which won't be ready for quite some time yet - as late as 2023, even.

Still, given Obsidian's RPG pedigree and the obvious comparisons to Skyrim - some even overzealously dubbing it a "Skyrim killer" - Avowed is sure to be one of the most avidly anticipated video games of whatever year it eventually releases in.
