10 Video Games That Surprisingly No-Showed E3 2021

Just like BioShock, it's been an entire eight years since the last mainline Splinter Cell game, Blacklist, was released, and for the last few years fans have understandably grown anxious waiting for Ubisoft to announce a new entry into the franchise.

Despite rumours continually suggesting the publisher is indeed at work on a new game in the series, fans have had to deal with being repeatedly baited by Splinter Cell announcements that ultimately have nothing to do with a new AAA game, such as confirmation of an animated series for Netflix.

Sadly Ubisoft whiffed a prime opportunity to put fans out of their misery during the company's Ubisoft Forward event at this year's E3, as Sam Fisher was infuriatingly nowhere to be seen.

Due to Blacklist's underwhelming commercial performance, Ubisoft doesn't seem much interested in resurrecting the series when they've got so many other reliably lucrative IP - namely Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon, Assassin's Creed, and so on.

Even so, Splinter Cell is an undeniable brand name - hence the Netflix animated series, right? - and deserves to be resurrected, especially with fans having waited patiently for almost an entire decade. Disappointing isn't even the word.
