10 Video Games That Were ROBBED At The Game Awards 2018
7. A Way Out
A Way Out is the co-op action/adventure game published by EA Sports. The game itself is probably not as well as known as its director, the brash and passionate Josef Fares.
Fares was at The Game Awards last year, to provide us a look at the then-upcoming game. He was beloved by fans for his jet-lagged rant about how games are art and that the Oscars can go f*$k themselves.
A Way Out launched earlier this year, and it was a really great game. It featured a touching story about two prison inmates who come-up with a plan to escape together and make a new life for themselves and their families.
A Way Out was nominated for just one award, and that was Best Direction. It was a AA game with the visuals and scope of a AAA, and Fares' directing was a large reason why. He seamlessly conducted a co-op game with split-screen action that never felt clunky or confusing. No small feat. It's a shame for Fares then, that he lost to God of War's incredible no-cut camera in the astounding God of War. A tough year indeed.
