10 Video Games That Would Sell MILLIONS With One Simple Tweak

1. Anthem - Not Rushed Out By Crunch

Brutal Legend
Bioware

It's easy enough for me, a man lounging on his back whilst writing this, to criticise and demonise crunch in the industry. It's flippant of me to say, "Yeah well, they could have just made it on their own terms" like I have no awareness of pressure of deadlines.

But sadly... that's what Anthem needed. Bioware had already had a major misfire in Mass Effect Andromeda, for all its rushed faults and lacklustre response, that EA should have eased off. They didn't, and Anthem came out and fell on deaf ears.

On paper, Anthem is great idea: a new story and world, whizzing about in Iron Man-like suits with your mates, fighting and flying as you go. Yet the rush to get this out led to a buggy and broken experience, citing is as one of the biggest flops of 2019.

All is not lost though, as hopefully taking a page out of Final Fantasy XIV's book and revising the game may finally do it justice.

If anything, it also highlights just how badly industry demand and developer crunch impacts a game. Viva la Anthem V2.0!
