10 Video Games That Would Sell MILLIONS With One Simple Tweak

7. Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island - Released Sooner

Brutal Legend
Nintendo

Super Mario World isn't just one of the best SNES games, but one of the best games ever (don't @ me, just look at the ratings).

SMW2: Yoshi's Island may not have the exact style of gameplay, shifting instead to playing as the titular green dinosaur, but it's just as charming as its predecessor. The vibrant colours, the unique egg-throwing and style of platforming, the way Yoshi goes, "Hyup!" every time he jumps... it's all there.

It should have been a certified hit. It scored highly, garnering critical reviews too. So... why didn't it sell millions?

Well, the future was here (in 1995, at least), with the PlayStation coming out a year prior. Last gen was out, current gen and its 32bit graphics and FMV's were in.

Which is a shame, as Yoshi's Island was, and still is, a beautiful game. Whilst a slightly different beast to the original 'World, it was still long enough and full of challenge to keep people entertained.

Sadly, the SNES' days were numbered, as players had moved on to bolder pastures. But on the bright side, it did get a Gameboy Advance port seven years later.
