10 Video Games That Would Sell MILLIONS With One Simple Tweak

5. Rainbow Six: Siege - Ditching Single Player

Brutal Legend
Ubisoft

It's easy enough to look back at the late blooming success of R6: Siege and where it is now. One of esports highest watched and played games, with an active player base high up in the millions.

But it wasn't always like that, with many (including myself), expecting to see this game fall flat on launch. And it nearly did, save for those that stuck with it.

For many, it was the removal of any form of single player campaign that nearly broke this game. We'd seen games like Brink come before it with its heavy reliance on just the multiplayer, and look what happened to that.

Due to sheer staying power, and a massive push on free-to-play weekends, Siege has gone on to shift millions in it the five years since its launch. Whilst fans still crave a story driven campaign, the fact that Siege has addictive and solid gameplay is enough to keep its sales riding high.

Of course, it could also be the insidious practice of microtransactions and hiding characters behind season passes that keep it in the black too...
