10 Video Games That Wasted Their Ludicrous Budgets On Terrible Levels
6. Halo The Library
Halo is undoubtedly the jewel in Microsoft's gaming crown. It helped get their adventurous new console, the Xbox, off the ground and has gone on to be acclaimed as one of the best first-person shooters ever. So why does it have to feature The Library? It's actually fairly common to hear complaints about The Library (it almost didn't make this list, simply due to it being picked on so much) but it's such a terribly designed level, it deserves its place here. Halo works best when you're out on the surface, exploring and skirmishing with the Covenant on picturesque landscapes. A repetitive, corridor maze with uninteresting enemies (it's also super long) is not Halo at its finest. The Library is set across four different stories and every single one looks identical. You'll fight the same exact enemies throughout the level (the Flood can prove to be really annoying enemies too) and you also get 343 Guilty Spark droning in your ear the whole time (it was all worth it when we finally got to eliminate him in Halo 3 though). Talking isn't allowed in most libraries but you'll just want to scream your head off in this one.
I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
