7. Goodbye Peter Dinklage - Destiny

Bungie & HBO

With Destiny set to be the biggest and most expensive video game production ever when it dropped in 2014, Bungie's epic project was expected to be the next Halo. Not only did it have striking visuals and innovative gameplay, Destiny boasted a powerhouse cast, which included Bill Nighy, Gina Torres, Nathan Fillion, Peter Stormare, and the late Lance Reddick.

However, it was Peter Dinklage's casting as Ghost that got everyone pumped. With the Emmy award winner at the peak of his career having starred in a then still-airing Game of Thrones, there was an expectation that Dinklage would blow everyone away with another towering performance.

But not only did Destiny turn out somewhat lacking, Dinklage's performance suffered the most scrutiny. Due to Ghost's monotonous and unenergised manner, players would never suspect he was voiced by the Game of Thrones star.

When Bungie got to work on Destiny's DLC, Dinklage was reportedly unavailable to record lines, which led to video game staple Nolan North to step in as his replacement. Because it would've been odd to hear a character voiced by two different actors, the developers had North re-record all of Ghost's lines in the main campaign, effectively erasing Dinklage from the game.
