Shadow of the Colossus is an experience no gamer should miss, and it's a minimalist story that contains a shocking twist that turns the idea of a happy ending on its head.

Our hero Wander is guided to kill the sixteen gigantic stone beings of the game known as the Colossus by an entity known as Dormin, and in return, a maiden named Mono will have her soul return to her body and resurrected.

It's a little sketchy, but Wander journey's forth and kills the only forms of life you encounter in the vast landscape, for the most part, with a special sword its revealed he's stolen.

What Wander doesn't know is that each Colossus contains a piece of Dormin's soul and as he destroys them a part of Dormin latches onto his soul and is stored inside him. Once the last Colossus falls, Dormin fully possesses Wander and a new team of heroes arrive then attempts to seal both Dormin and his corrupted host away forever again in a pool of water.

The now awakened Mono goes to the pool and discovers an infant with horns. It's heavily implied children like this are cursed in this universe and Dormin has been reborn.
