10 Video Games Where You Unexpectedly Swap Characters

7. Uncharted 4: A Thief's End

Red Dead Redemption John Jack

Given that Uncharted 4: A Thief's End was conceived as a fond farewell to globetrotting mass murderer Nathan Drake, it seemed logical that we'd spend the entire gaming playing as him, right?

Well, Naughty Dog had other ideas, as you briefly play as two other characters during the epic campaign - or three if you count that Crash Bandicoot scene.

In the game's fifth chapter, we briefly switch from Nate to his brother Sam as he carries out his daring prison break, and in the years-later epilogue sequence, we're given control of Nate and Elena's teenager daughter Cassie as she explores the Drake house and eventually learns of her parents' adventurous past.

Though Naughty Dog aren't exactly strangers to character switches, it was especially surprising to see the end of Uncharted 4 shift the perspective to Drake's progeny, cutely setting the stage for a possible Cassie-starring reboot in the future.
