10 Video Games With "That One Level" Everyone Hates

3. Blighttown - Dark Souls

You hear a lot of talk these days about how Blighttown - an infamous level from the original Dark Souls - "isn't that bad actually." People who say this are idiots.

OK maybe not idiots, but they definitely have a short memory and the privilege of heartier technology, because in the game's original Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 releases, it was a nightmare.

To start, the entire area is comprised of tiers of shack homes connected by narrow bridges and LOTS of ladders - and nary a guard rail in sight. Imagine a vertical maze and you'll get the idea - it's the Devil's jungle gym, but the size of an entire town. There are copious dead ends and dead drops, precariously placed items, and most importantly - enemies!

Blighttown is populated almost entirely by snipers who are just itching to nail you with an arrow from off-screen while you're balancing over a single plank of wood suspended over a 20-foot fall. And that's WHILE you're fighting the giant mosquitos.

And, back in the day, the entire time, you were also battling a sporadic frame rate that would drop to borderline unplayable levels.

So, Blighttown?

Never again.
