10 Video Games With Unique Art Styles You Need To See

6. Superhot

Superhot Team

At first glance, Superhot doesn't really look like it's got much going on for it. Coming across like a tech demo for something in the works with its wireframe-esque visuals, what more could there be to it?

Well, how about a surprisingly in depth puzzle/shooter that uses time manipulation and forward planning as its main selling point? Yeah, go figure.

The beauty in Superhot is that behind the simplicity of the look, the execution takes a lot more strategy to pull off. You see, time only moves when you do. It's like those bits in the recent Sherlock Holmes films: you have to project your movements and think two steps ahead of the enemy for a sweet, flawless run.

It's got a head-scratcher of a story, too. Playing an unnamed individual playing a bootleg version of Superhot in-game, events start getting weirder as you progress through missions. Think... Tron, by way of David Lynch and you're on the right page.

Also, if you're an advocate of VR, it's definitely worth it. Bringing the meta-narrative story elements closer to home, it's a trip.
