10 Video Games With Zero Expectations (That Blew EVERYONE Away)
7. Undertale
Undertale is such an iconic RPG that it's easy to forget just how humble its origins truly were. After all, how "must-play" could a game largely produced by just a single person in GameMaker Studio possibly be?
But Toby Fox's deeply strange, hilarious, and endlessly creative game received universal acclaim upon release in 2015, taking the world by storm with its totally unique approach to, well, just about everything.
For a game coming from such humble origins - and with a crowd-funded budget of barely $50,000 - to become a bonafide pop-culture Event in its own right was something nobody, least of all Fox himself, could've ever seen coming.
Eight years on, Undertale is often upheld as one of the greatest and most important video games of all time, having provided inspiration for a whole glut of oddball indies ever since.
For any game developers out there without a team or sizable coffers, this was downright inspiring.
