If you thought EA Sports was harsh for shutting down the Medal of Honor series, you should see what they have planned for their sport brands. Even though it seems brutal to drop old titles from franchises like FIFA, it's necessary, since the creators have to focus on modern instalments.

Having said that, the company appears to have a bone to pick with their sport games this year. As soon as 2023 started, EA Sports removed the online functionality for NBA Jam: On Fire Edition.

No big deal, right? But just when sport fans thought it was a once-off, the Stadia version of FIFA 21, 22, 23, Madden 21 and 22 had their servers disconnected.

Realising EA Sports was eradicating its own projects with the efficiency of a serial killer, the other games knew their days were numbered. Just as February hit, BAM! UFC 2 was taken out too. For some reason, EA Sports thought Valentines Day was an appropriate date to close the servers for FIFA 16,17,18, and 19 on all systems. Just when you thought the bloodbath was over, they announced the online multiplayer for Madden 18 and 19 will end in March.

Since it's still early days, it's not too farfetched to believe EA Sports will add a few more titles to the chopping block before the year is over.
