10 Video Games You Didn't Realise Just Got Cancelled
3. Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic Remake
In September 2021, a remake of legendary RPG Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic was announced, much to the excitement of, well, just about everybody.
Yet production on the remake has been anything but smooth, with reports emerging last July that developer Aspyr wasn't generating results satisfactory to Sony and Lucasfilm.
And last August, rumours began to spread that Aspyr had been dismissed from the project outright and replaced with Saber Interactive.
But the most crushing blow came mere weeks ago in late May, when Jeff Grubb reported that he didn't believe the KOTOR remake will ever come out, evidently owing to his inside knowledge of the project's development.
This combined with Aspyr recently cancelling the Restored Content DLC for the Switch port of KOTOR II paints several troubling pictures for the IP and the companies currently working on it.
While the KOTOR remake hasn't been officially cancelled, going by Grubb's remarks it's looking likely to be a Beyond Good and Evil 2-type project which languishes around in development hell for years without making much in the way of substantive progress.
