10 Video Games You Didn't Realise Shut Down In 2024

Live service co-op shooter Synced launched as a free-to-play title in September 2023 and received generally mixed reviews from critics and players alike, most surmising that it simply didn't do enough to stand out in an extremely crowded genre space.

And so, with its player base dwindling to less than 100 on Steam by last Spring, it was really just a matter of time before the plug was pulled.

And indeed, back in July publisher Level Infinite offered a termination notice, confirming that the game would be shut down in September.

Precisely a year after it launched, Synced was switched off - a brutal fate for a game that launched to more than 10,000 concurrent Steam players.

That said, it clearly flew way too low under the radar to make much of an impact, and evidently didn't have the juice to maintain an active player-base, so its demise was hardly a shock.
