3. Darksiders 2: Deathinitive Edition
Why? A fantastic remaster of an already-brilliant action-RPG - think Warcraft's look meets God of War's combat and you're almost there. When a studio goes under, even their best projects tend to get forgotten about. That's totally been the case for the Darksiders games, which remain awesome combinations of God of War's brutal combat with open-world exploration and a solid comic book-style lore to keep you hooked on what you'll see next. For the second instalment, developers Vigil Games threw in a stupidly satisfying loot system that gives Diablo III a run for its money, alongside a ton of RPG-based stat progression so you can keep track of weapon damage and item buffs. The end result is a satisfying loot grind that only compliments the base level of combat at every turn, rounding off a phenomenal visual presentation and the occasional platform element - not to mention the return of the open world and all the secrets that are tucked away inside. The first Darksiders was a bit of a sleeper hit, but DS2 is a hidden gem of the most shiny and easily discoverable kind.
