Everyone and their mothers has assumed that Grand Theft Auto VI will be the next Rockstar game to launch, but recent rumours suggest the company is actually working on a new IP set to release before that long-anticipated sequel.

Project Medieval isn't anything new, and it was assumed to be shelved when the rumours first popped up in early 2019, but other leaks still suggest that the open world game set - you guessed it - in the Medieval period, specifically Europe, is coming before GTA VI.

Rockstar always have their fingers in a bunch of different pies, but in the past few years have been slow to actually release new products, and that's meant they've stuck to established franchises rather than take a punt on new ideas. They've earned the right to do something new though, even if Project Medieval feels like a very strange move.
