10 Video Games You Won’t Believe Are In Development
7. Deep Down
Yes, Deep Down is still in development. Wait, what do you mean "what's Deep Down?" Okay, let me explain.
Right back at the start of the current console generation, a whole bunch of exciting new games and prototypes teased what the new machines were capable of. A lot of these ended up being launch games, but a whole bunch of them are yet to see the light of day.
One of those is Deep Down, a high-fantasy dungeon crawler set to release exclusively for the PS4. It was announced alongside the console itself, and at the time its depiction of a knight battling a dragon looked absolutely tantalising. Sadly, that's still the best look we ever got at it.
In the following moths, Capcom clarified that it would be a free-to-play co-op game (which, as you can expect, didn't go down well) but two years later developers on the project told journalists that the scope had increased massively, which pushed back the launch date.
Cut to 2020, and the only update we have is that Deep Down has "not been completely given up on". It's still in the oven in some form, and if Capcom have any humour about them they'll re-unveil it when Sony finally hold a press conference to formally reveal the PS5.
